Recycling organic waste benefits
organisations because:
It is environmentally sound and
sustainable
It is economically competitive
It results in a lower carbon footprint
It is fully compliant
How the recycling of sludge and
effluent works Trailers are filled
with organic waste at the treatment
works and are then taken to nearby
willow plantations. The waste is then
distributed through the plantation -
either injected directly into the soil
(sludge) or through the use of
specifically designed irrigation systems
(effluent). This process requires little
energy with capital and operational
costs are low.

A pioneer
in the recycling of organic effluents and
sludges into willow plantations, we have
been providing clients with organic waste
management solutions leading to cost savings
and reduced CO2 emissions for
those working in the agri-food and dairy
sector throughout Ireland.
The
introduction of tighter EU Waste Management
Legislation and regulation and increasing
pressures on the availability of suitable
land banks have meant that it has become
increasingly important for organisations to
dispose of their waste in a compliant and
environmentally sustainable manner.
We provide
clients with an environmentally sustainable
route for recycling organic waste into
energy by developing short rotation willow
coppice plantations which are then irrigated
with waste water effluent or injected with
sludge.
This systems
acts as an effective biofilter reducing the
levels of pollutants in the environment. The
willow crop is fertilised by the nutrients
contained in the organic waste and is then
harvested for wood fuel energy.
