Willow Harvesting
Willow plantations are harvested
when the plant is dormant and the
moisture content in the plant is at
its lowest. This normally occurs
between November and March each
year. The crop is cut and chipped
in a single pass, with the chip
being blown into trailers and taken
to drying facilities. This method of
harvesting can cover 5-6ha/day.

We can contract to harvest
your crop, either on its own
or as part of a contract to
purchase the wood chip, wet
or dry.
We use a specially modified
850 CLASS Harvester, with
two 1.4 meter cutting discs.
This, with highly
experienced operators,
allows us to chip up to four
years of growth.
Chip harvesting has the
advantage of speeding up the
drying process and removes
the need for double
handling.
